You are unique and our time together will be unique too. Over the years I have mastered a psychotherapeutic approach that is underpinned with compassionate-based inquiry. You are at the centre of the work, and my role is more like that of a professional guide, to help you take direction in letting go of pain and suffering, learning to accept, move forward, and make changes to bring a more fulfilling life.
My extensive training in a range of modern and traditional disciplines means that I consider a person's body, mind and spirit when providing the right help at the right time, in a way that's right for you. Some of the terms that can be used to describe aspects of my work include:- person-centered, active listening, compassionate-based inquiry, reflection, reframing, motivational, visualisation, meditation, constructive, breathwork, mindfulness, psychosynthesis, internal family systems, and somatic methods.
Unlike most psychotherapists and counsellors, I am also a trained coach. Initially, I provided coaching as a separate approach to help people overcome particular problems or experiences, and move forward in their lives. However, my experience shows that much more fundamental, and longer-lasting impact can be achieved when coaching is combined within a psychotherapy/counselling framework. In other words, my work is truly integrative across a range of disciplines, theories, and professions and the boundaries between psychotherapy, counselling and coaching become non-distinct. My focus in on providing the most appropriate effective care and support for you, in my therapy role, rather than adhering to generic text-book models of care.
