You will come across websites that have testimonials and claims about 'client satisfaction'. But this approach doesn't feel authentic to me - I'm not here to make you feel 'satisfied' but to help you move forward in some way, in your life. Psychotherapy and counselling can be a tough process at times, and can involve getting in touch with deep-rooted painful emotions and not about feeling 'satisfied'.
Listing testimonials from people runs the risk of breaking client confidentiality - to remain legal, the contact details of the person making the statement need to be declared and a full consent process needs to be completed. In my view, this isn't the purpose of therapy.
But most importantly, what would a satisfied comment really mean? That no one was 'not satisfied', or that I just selected a comment that I liked the most.
